The instructions found in A Quilters Purse-O-Nality enables you to easily construct a large quilted tote resembling those expensive designer bags but, oh so much nicer! You will be able to use better quality fabrics and the color combinations and designs available are limitless.
The exterior and interior of the bag are the opposite sides of the same quilted piece. Handles, exterior pockets, and inside compartments are connected simultaneously. Since the same lines of stitching work for both the inside and out, theres no need to go to the extra time and trouble to construct a separate lining. Several design options are available as follows:
Double-sided pre-quilted material (its ready to go just add material for handles, pockets, and bias trim.
One-sided pre-quilted material (add a layer of fabric to cover the interior side)
Quilt with your own fabrics with batting or fleece
Use your own fabrics and batting but do not quilt.
